How did you find last term?

Happy holidays.
Hope you are so excited about the August holiday, but as the term ended, we need to look back and really see if you have improved on our individual goals set at the beginning of the term.
The bottom line is, have you lived up to your goals? Share with us, so many will learn.
This week we asked the students to hear what they would call their greatest achievement this term. Here are some of their responses.

I thank God for allowing me to come out third place at our district debate competitions, I never thought that with my little research and practice I would reach that far. I am proud of myself and my school for believing in me. I think this has been my greatest achievement this term.
Maxine Doba, 18, Mkoba 3 High School.

Last term I had 12 points and this term I have 13 points, which I can safely say I have achieved my goal to remain upbeat with my class mates. Studying may be hard but reaping the benefits is beneficial even to our parents.
Eugine Mupfunya, 18, Westwood College.

This term, I have achieved a lot in my studies since I was lacking in some of my subjects, but all to my hard work I have improved. I have always worked on developing a good relationship with my teachers .which I think gave me the opportunity to excel.
Nonhlanhla Magwaza, 17, Transparency College.

For me the term has been great, I have single-handedly started a club at our school. The club aims to improve sports, arts and culture at our school and as a student I feel honoured after having pulled this through.
Tinotenda Kanengoni, 18, Glen View 2 High School.

My greatest achievement this term was to stand and advocate for the ending of early child marriages and we seem to be winning the war. That did not end there, as a junior senator I was also involved in more charity work as I impacted positively on the less privileged.
Michael Manhimanzi, 18, Harare High School.

I got to learn more about the world from a different angle, the new information I got from my daily physics lessons made me understand the world of science in a better way. Now the way I think and approach life has been changed, I will be shifting my boundaries.
Melusi Sibanda, 17, Ccosa, Harare.

I passed all my art subjects, which is an improvement from last term’s performance. I think I have improved on my studying and as we fast approach our final exams this means that I am in the right direction.
Susan Chihuri, 18, Still Waters Learning Academy.

Well I cannot say that I achieved all of my goals. My grades were low this term compared to last term. Maybe I was not working as hard as I should have, but next term I am sure I will achieve all my goals because I am determined to work extra hard.
Nyasha Mary Dimigo, 17, His Mercy College

This term was tough, academically my grades were poor, maybe it’s because I was too playful, however I am going to work very hard so that I achieve good grades next term even if it means attending extra lessons during the holiday.
Natasha Hove, Rakodzi High School.

I can say it was a really challenging term as too much effort was needed to pass and I thank God that I eventually managed to pass all my subjects though I was expecting to do better than this. All I wanted is to make my parents proud. Next term I will put more effort in the subjects that I did not do well.
Michell Manix 14, Anderson Adventist High School.

I managed to achieve better results in all the subjects that I took in my exams. I was really expecting to have As only but you know how it is with school as you can sometimes get what you would not have planned for. I just hope the teachers will give us more work so that we can cover enough ground if we are to make it in the final exams.
Edward Madyamhuru, Pace
College.

We always hope for the best in our school work, but this term things were tight as I managed to do good in half of my subjects. I was really hoping for high grades this term, I guess I will do better than this next term. This term I had a lot of commitments besides my school work.
Tinotenda Muvami, 18, Divaris Makharis.
*********************
Much of my school time was affected by sports this term. What I wanted was to have the best in my exams but I couldn’t make it. I hope next term I will do better.
Attorney Moyo 17, UMAA Elite College.

This term I did not manage to do well in school as I was hoping to get straight As in all my subjects. I did not study hard like I was supposed to. I hope to do better next term because I am going to put extra effort in my school work.
Isheanesu Choga 16, Churchill Boys High.
