How Mine snub Kangwa

UNREALISTIC demands by Highlanders leftback Bruce Kangwa saw How Mine call off negotiations on the left wing back’s intended move to the gold miners.

An impeccable source at How Mine told Sunday News Sport that the club did indeed engage in talks with Kangwa at the beginning of the year when he was at a national team camp ahead of the African Nations Championships.

The source said the Metallon Gold Zimbabwe-sponsored club knew that Kangwa’s contract with Highlanders was expiring at the end of March, but the player’s demands stopped them from further pursuing him.

How Mine went on to sign former Gunners, FC Platinum and Dynamos defender Qadr Amin which effectively closed the door on Kangwa reuniting with his former coach at Highlanders, Kelvin Kaindu.

“How Mine held talks with Bruce Kangwa during the Warriors camp in Harare but his demands were just unreasonable so they stopped pursuing him.

“Now that they have signed Qadr Amin who plays the same position there is no chance of Kangwa signing for How Mine,’’ said the source.

The 27-year-Kangwa is yet to commit his future to Highlanders with his contract due to come to an end on 31 March.

Sources close to the player have disclosed that with time running out with most teams having finalised their squads for the 2016 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, Kangwa might be forced to commit his future at Highlanders.

“Bruce is signing a new contract with Highlanders soon, there is no team that he is going to,’’ said a close friend of Kangwa.

Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede said he understood that Kangwa was being promised big monies elsewhere and it was up to him to either move or stay at Bosso.

Informants at Number 50 Robert Mugabe Way have revealed that those charged with ensuring that Kangwa signs a new deal at Highlanders had made significant progress with the player having made a climb-down from what he was demanding in terms of a signing on fee.

Kangwa has been at Highlanders since 2009 when he was brought to the club by then Bosso coach Madinda Ndlovu from the now defunct Railstars.
