ZIMBABWE’S top professional golfer Scott Vincent has clawed his way back into the star–studded LIV Golf League, sealing his 2026 return after topping the International Series Rankings at the conclusion of the PIF Saudi International.
Vincent, who was relegated from LIV last year, completed a perfect comeback campaign by finishing the International Series season with 335.11 points. Japan’s Yosuke Asaji settled for second with 285.30 points.
It is Vincent’s second time winning the International Series crown after bagging the inaugural title in 2022, making him the only Zimbabwean to achieve the feat twice.
Although his final round in Saudi Arabia was anything but smooth, the objective -par 75 to finish on eight-under-par 276. The pressure was real, the nerves were high, but the job was done.
“I think it’s still settling in,” Vincent said after securing his spot. “Right now, all I want to do is go see my family. We’ll head towards them tonight and I can’t wait to see them.
“I woke up at about 4:30, two hours before I was hoping to, and then you start playing all the scenarios in your head. I wanted to come out here and just play freely and give it my best, but I was nervous. Not looking at leaderboards, you don’t know how much of a cushion you have. You don’t want to be the guy who’s ahead and loses.”
Two LIV spots were available through the International Series Rankings, and Vincent grabbed one of them after a consistent season that also saw him finish in an eight-way tie for sixth in the PIF Saudi International. His brother Kieran was part of the same tie, making it a strong family showing on the global stage.
Vincent, who previously spent two seasons with Iron Heads GC, now prepares for another crack at LIV’s lucrative, high-pressure environment.
ZULU SHINES AT HARRY
ALLEN CLASSIC
Back home, Zimbabwe’s rising golf star Elton Zulu delivered a composed performance to win the 2025 Harry Allen Classic at Harry Allen Golf Club in Bulawayo.
Zulu closed with a level-par 72 to finish on four-over-par 220, beating Blessing Gondo by three shots to claim his third title of the season. The event carried extra prestige this year, having been recognised for the first time as a World Amateur Golf Ranking tournament.
Zulu opened with a level 72, followed by a 76 in the second round, before steadying himself with another 72 to shut the door on Gondo, who finished on seven-over-par 223 with rounds of 73, 74 and 76.
Darlington Chikanyambidze completed the podium, finishing third on 15-over-par 231. The ZGA season wraps up this coming weekend with the Platinum Classic at Norton Golf Club.
