Hurungwe man in court for sodomy

appeared before magistrate Mr Obidience Matare.
He was remanded in custody to June 5.
He is being charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault as defined in Section 66 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9: 23.
Prosecutor Mr Benjamin Negato told the court that during the night of May 3 this year, Sipiriyano who shared the same bedroom with the minor, burrowed into the minor’s blankets before he allegedly gagged the juvenile using his palm.
He then sodomised the boy.
On May 20 this year, Sipiriyano, it is also alleged, repeated the offence on the boy using the same method.
He threatened the boy with unspecified actions if he told anyone.
The boy, however, revealed the offence to his parents who later took the matter to the police leading to Sipiriyano’s arrest.
