JOHANNESBURG. – CAF president Patrice Motsepe insists former Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane remains his favourite coach and he would like to see him coaching Bafana Bafana in future.
Mosimane enjoys a love-hate relationship with the former Sundowns chairman since he left the club to join Al Ahly.
The relationship between the two men came under strain when the Brazilians ordered Mosimane to pay back an R8 million signing-on bonus paid to him after renewing his contract shortly before joining the Egyptian giants.
‘Jingles’ also received a mixed reception from Masandawana fans when returning to South Africa in the CAF Champions League where obscenities were hurled at him.
“He is my favourite,” Motsepe insisted.
“I love Pitso. I will always love Pitso.
“He has a special place in my heart. I wish him well. I wish that he could become the head coach of Bafana Bafana again one day. I would even get the Motsepe Foundation to subsidise his salary.
“I think he is a quality coach, and quality should not come cheap.” – KickOff
