National Peoples’ Conference that starts at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds this week.
Delegates to the conference, which will be held under the theme, “Defend National Sovereignty, Consolidate Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment,” are expected to start arriving on Wednesday.
The conference, which will be officially opened by President Mugabe on Thursday is expected to attract more than 3 000 delegates.
Speaking at a delegates’ meeting held at Davies Hall yesterday, Zanu-PF provincial chairman Cde Isaac Dakamela, said the province had made commendable progress in preparation of the conference.
“As a province we have covered a lot of groundwork ahead of the conference.
“We are finalising on few issues such as the accreditation of delegates otherwise accommodation and food for delegates have been secured while the setting up of thematic committees that will discuss issues at the conference is complete,” he said.
He said the accreditation process would be finalised today.
