the humongous task of redirecting your goals.
Many may remember this “moment” from the time they collected grade seven, O-level or A-level results. Your life was never the same after that.
Cool Lifestyle is still over the moon about the teens who were able to come out with flying colours in their 2012 exams. We see future doctors, pilots, lawyers, architects, successful business people as well as great leaders in every one of you.
As much as we are excited for those who made it hope is not lost for those who did not manage to pass or did not come up with the adequate results to pursue desired goals.
As the old adage goes, failing to plan is planning to fail. What this means is that if you do not pave the way forward then you are going to have problems.
Yes you failed the exams but that does not make you a failure in life. You might be disappointed in yourself for letting yourself, parents, teachers or other people down but guess what: it is not over just yet.
Lisa from Avondale is among the teens who spoke to Cool Lifestyle on how she is not hanging up her boots just yet even though she did not get the results she wanted.
We admire Lisa for her honesty and courage to face her results head on. It is always advisable for one to conduct intensive research in order to come up with alternatives.
The first step when dealing with such an issue is to appreciate the current situation. By this, we mean you need to stop lying to people or yourself about your results. If you have come to terms with results you do not hide from people or avoid the results subject.
Yes people are going to laugh at you, talk about you behind your back. But so what? Only you have control over your destiny and even if people talk, it does not remove a strand of hair from your head. Yes you failed, but it is not the end of the world.
The second step is to identify your area of weakness. What was the reason for not producing good results? You know yourself better and you are the best person to give the most accurate answer. You knew it in your heart when you were actually studying and when you were faking it.
You also knew how you saw the exam despite going along with everyone else’s answer that the exam was easy, great or fair.
If you gave it your best and the results were not satisfactory then just like Lisa it might be best to try something else.
