ASPIRING Highlandersa vice-chairman Kenneth Mhlophe says his maturity and being a team player will come in handy to the Highlanders cause as the club seeks to bring back a?the real glory daysa?.

All seems to be set for an enthralling contest in the Highlanders election for the vice-chairman and treasureras posts set for February 6 after all the six candidates had their nomination papers approved.

Mhlophe (59), a retired colonel who runs Nokel Security Company, will contest for Bossoas vice-chairman post with his main threat that comes in the mould of Harare-based businessman Modern Sikhuthele Ngwenya who is also eager to bring about transformation at Highlanders.

There is also another local businessman Nkosilathi Ncube in the race as well as the incumbent Mgcini Mpofu out to seek re-election.

Mhlophe said he isA ripe and ready to occupy a post at Highlanders.

a?Iam a team player but Iam not a yes man. I will bring my vast business experience and acumen in administration and management.A I worked in the army for over 28 years that is where I learnt management skills. I believe in unity which I think is lacking at Highlanders. I have the right age and maturity. I think I am able to unite the Bosso family because without unity the club is doomed,a? said Mhlophe.

In the past Mhlophe has been a benefactor for the Bulawayo giants. He strongly believes the emotional attachment he has with the team will help him work for the teamas best interest.

a?Club chairman Peter Dube needs someone who will assist him in decision making. I am a decision maker myself and I have helped Highlanders on numerous occasions but my contributions are not for the gallery,a? he added.
