INCOMING CITY POLICE CHIEF PRAISES PREDECESSOR

INCOMING Officer Commanding Police Harare Province, Commissioner Maxwell Chikunguru, has heaped praise on his predecessor for the excellent leadership he provided for the force in the capital,

Comm Chikunguru has replaced Comm Wonder Tembo.

“I am fully aware of the responsibilities that come with this position,” said Comm Chikunguru.

“I assure you that I am committed to upholding the principles of integrity, professionalism and accountability in all aspects of our work. 

“My vision for Harare Province is grounded in the belief that community engagement and collaboration are essential in achieving our shared goal of a safe and secure environment for all residents.

“The outgoing Harare Commander, Commissioner Tembo, his team and the help from community, has changed not only the face of Harare Central Police Station but reduced the crime rate.

“His efforts has been noted by authorities that he is now responsible for training police officers nationwide and not Harare only.

“Commissioner Wonder Tembo’s legacy will be remembered and I am dedicated to building upon the solid foundation he has established.”

Comm Chikunguru also highlighted the importance of fostering positive relationships with the media, pledging to ensure accurate and timely information is disseminated to the public.

In his farewell remarks, Comm Tembo said he was confident his successor will deliver excellent leadership. Provincial Community Liaison Committee chairperson, Dr Nathaniel Madzivanyika, welcomed Comm Chikunguru by opening a refurbished cafeteria at Harare Central Police Station.
