Inconsistency costing Bosso

HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu says one of their biggest let downs this season has been their failure to be consistent with positive results.

Bosso have not won in their last two games after losing 2-1 to Simba Bhora and managing a nil-all stalemate against TelOne last Sunday. Before the two results, Highlanders had seemed to be on a roll after they beat Dynamos and Bulawayo Chiefs respectively. They won both matches 2-0.

Bosso’s longest winning streak this season has been when they won three games in a row early on in the season. Ahead of his side’s next league assignment against Chegutu Pirates Kaindu said his side needed to be more consistent in winning games.

“At the end of the day, it’s the inconsistency that has affected us the most. We seem to be going in the right direction then we are stopping. But I think with the games that are coming, if we can be consistent with the victories then it will be better for us,” said Kaindu.

Kaindu expects his opponents to bring a defensive approach to their game but is hopeful they will come out with a positive result. “Games are changing. I think l will get more information from the game that we played in the first round. They have added several players in the mid-season window so we will try and get more information from other sources as well.

The challenge for us is we are playing an almost similar opponent to the ones we played last week. We just hope that we learned our lesson from the previous game. We just hope we go into this game with the right mindset,” said Kaindu.

In the last meeting between the two teams at Barbourfields Stadium back in April, Highlanders beat Chegutu Pirates 3-0. According to Kaindu, defender Archford Faira and striker Never Rauzhi will have to pass late fitness tests to play a part on Sunday. They both picked up knocks when Bosso played TelOne last Sunday.

Bosso has been highly active in the just-ended mid-season window bringing in the forward duo of Never Rauzhi and Nqobile Ndlovu. Bosso have also bolstered in defense as they have brought in central defender Arthur Ndlovu from Arenel. Defender Andrew Tandi has been sent out on loan to Arenal while striker Reason Sibanda has also been loaned out to Bulawayo Chiefs.

In other matches, In-form Simba Bhora welcomes equally on-fire Yadah Stars at Wadzanayi Stadium. On Sunday, Philani “Beefy” Ncube will lead Arenel Movers for their game against fellow new boys Bikita Minerals at Sakubva Stadium. Caps United will square it off against FC Platinum at Rufaro Stadium in their first match without Lloyd Chitembwe who reportedly threw in the towel on Monday.TelOne welcome Hwange at Gweru’s Bata Stadium.
