THE Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK) has appointed Ambassador Pavelyn Tendai Musaka as Diplomatic and Political Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer, with effect from May 1, 2026.

In a statement, INSTAK said the appointment is expected to strengthen the institution’s diplomatic capacity as Zimbabwe prepares its bid to host the African Union Summit in July 2027, which is set to coincide with the grand opening of the Museum of African Liberation.

The institute said Ambassador Musaka brings decades of distinguished diplomatic service and statecraft experience to the organisation.

“Ambassador Musaka brings decades of distinguished diplomatic service and statecraft to INSTAK. Having served in high-profile diplomatic missions across the continent and globally, her extensive expertise in international relations, regional integration, protocol and public policy will be instrumental in advancing INSTAK’s international engagements,” said the institute.

As Diplomatic and Political Advisor to the CEO, Ambassador Musaka will provide high-level counsel on geopolitical trends, multilateral partnerships and policy frameworks.

INSTAK said her appointment comes at a strategic time as the institution seeks to enhance its international engagements and support Zimbabwe’s efforts to host the African Union Summit in 2027.

Ambassador Musaka has held several senior diplomatic positions during her career. She previously served as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ghana for 12 years, Deputy Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and Chief Director of Protocol and Conferencing Services in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

The announcement was made by the Board of Trustees of the Institute of African Knowledge.
