IS Scott Vincent now the richest Zimbabwean sportsperson at the moment?
It’s hard to argue otherwise as Vincent is making the most of his time on the LIV Golf tour, with a fifth-place finish at LIV Golf Korea over the weekend.
His solo fifth place ensured a cheque for US$800,000.
Vincent carded rounds of 65, 70, 67 and 69 to finish on nine-under for the week.
Chile’s Joaquin Niemann won the event and pocketed US$4m.
The 34-year-old Vincent is certainly making the most of the 2026 season, after losing his LIV Golf Tour card in 2024.
Vincent already has four other top-15 finishes to his name after eight events.
His earnings already stand at US$3,552,333 for the season, which sees him occupy 15th place on the money list.
After turning professional in 2015, Vincent has since played on the Sunshine Tour, DP World Tour, Japan Challenge Tour, and PGA Tour Canada before finding his groove with LIV Golf.
Vincent has three Japan Golf Tour wins, as well as two Asian Tour victories and one Japan Challenge Tour triumph to his name.
Before LIV Golf Korea, Vincent had made US$11,292,400 on the LIV Golf Tour, which places him 48th on the career earnings.
He has now earned US$12,092,400.
Branden Grace is the top South African earner on LIV Golf in career earnings of US$40 523 094 before LIV Golf Korea.
Spain’s Jon Rahm is still the top earner on the tour with a whopping US$93,271,529 made since 2022.
Niemann, who left LIV Golf Korea with another trophy, praised Vincent’s work ethic and pointed to the effort he sees from the Zimbabwean during practice.
The two players spent the final two rounds together at the Asiad Country Club.
“I feel like he’s developed as a player big time,” Niemann said.
“The way you see him practising, he’s always the first one in the gym, he’s always the first one on the range, on the putting green, he’ll be there until the end of the day.
“I want to also congratulate Scott for his week and the way he’s playing.
“I feel he’s been really consistent since he came back.”
Vincent’s finish in Korea continued a strong start to the 2026 season.
The Zimbabwean entered the event with four top-15 finishes in his first seven LIV Golf starts of the year and added another high finish with his solo result in Busan.
