Ishan rediscovers touch

AWARD-WINNING Afro pop musician, Ishan, has regained his formula as his latest song, ‘‘Lola’’, featuring Annatoria, is currently topping charts on local radio stations.

The new single is doing well on local radio stations with huge urban followers such as Power FM and ZiFM.

In an interview, Ishan who appeared to have disappeared from the radar, said:

“I can’t say it’s like we are back on top of the charts because Maidei did well at some time.

“However, getting people to appreciate music that you make passionately, with a desire to achieve certain things like these, it feels good.

“And, the love has been seen by how people have been responding to the song Lola.

“When we did Lola the session, I was very honest and pure.

“People were happy, and as artists we felt refreshed,” he said.

He said he was confident the song will be embraced by fans.

“It’s not like we did not expect the song would be chart topper, we had a feeling that it would be a great project.

“Coming up with Lola was a process. I first received the beat from Nicky, and it took time to come up with a composition.

“Then one day, while I was sitting, I just started singing Lola Lola, and that is how it began.

“I can’t say there was a source of inspiration. But, it was a spiritual moment where everything started building up together.”

Asked how he hooked up with Annatoria for this particular project, he explained:

“Afterwards, I called Annatoria who showed keen interest to work on the song.

“This year, there is a lot of music that I am working on.

“I am in the studio working right now.

“There will be a lot of surprises and people should expect more,” he added.
