Israeli tycoon arrested

Zimbabwean national identity card and driver’s licence.
This was in violation of the Immigration Act. Rasslan was arrested early this month by Department of Immigration officers after raiding his Glen Lorne house. He was yesterday still in custody and assisting with investigations awaiting deportation.
Rasslan was found in possession of an Israeli passport bearing the name Mike Rasslan and a Seychelles passport bearing the name Raolf Rasslan.
Further searches led to the recovery of a Zimbabwean national identity card and the driver’s licence all with the name Mike Rasslan.
Assistant Regional Immigration officer Mr Fancis Mabika yesterday confirmed the arrest. He however, refused to give more details in the case. He said the case had been referred to the High Court.
The matter is being dealt under case number HC 1261/12. According to sources Rasslan entered Zimbabwe in 2006 as a student at Speciss College.
He is reported to have studied English for 18 months. There was no further information of what he was doing in Zimbabwe.
It is however, believed that Rasslan and a Russian business tycoon (name supplied) were involved in diamond and gold dealings. A few days before the Immigration officials arrested Rasslan, police reportedly impounded three top of the range vehicles from his home.
Rasslan faces deportation if found to be in breach of Zimbabwean laws.
