AN IT manager appeared in court yesterday accused of raping his friend’s niece after a drinking spree last weekend.
Malvin Nyamadzawo 42, was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei.
The court heard that on March 1, Nyamadzawo visited the complainant, who is 30 years-old, at her home and convinced her to go out for drinks with him.
They went to a restaurant and bar in Eastlea.
They then went to Londoners Bar at Strathaven Shops.
Upon arrival, Nyamadzawo bought three ciders for the complainant and three beers for himself.
He went on to participate in a pool tournament that was being held there.
He persuaded the complainant to take two shots of Jagermeister and, at some point, she lost consciousness and only woke up the next day.
She checked herself and saw semen on her private parts.
Lancelot Mutsokoti appeared for the State.
Meanwhile, a visually impaired Epworth man appeared in court accused of raping his teenage daughter.
He was remanded in custody to today pending bail considerations because of his special circumstances.
A mentally-challenged man also appeared in court accused of raping his neighbour.
