Their show is a diverse mix of styles, from swing and bossa nova to the mambo and tango, all sprinkled with rich repartee in between the songs.
The group have toured in more than 20 countries in Europe, Middle East and Africa, making them the most toured acappella troupe in Italy. They recently performed with James Blunt, Jonathan Butler and James Morrison in Dubai. These Italians promise to delight and sparkle with their original and highly entertaining show.
The group includes Fabio Lepore (tenor), Daniela Desideri (soprano), Francesca Leone (mezzo soprano), Marco Giuliani (baritone), Andrea Maurelli (bass). The Mezzotono Show is entirely executed by five voices acappella, which means without the use of any musical instruments, because the voices reproduce the different instruments (drums, percussions, electric bass, guitar, mandoline).
Their repertoire consists solely of defining Italian music and varies from songs in barese dialect to some classic songs of the Italian tradition.
All the songs have a very different impact from the original version because of the unpredictable contribution of the rythmic-vocal section. The often comical approach of the five interpreters encourages audience participation in a nice and never pushy way.
Mezzotono has already been in several prominent Italian TV appearances, their tours have included theatres all over the world and they have performed hundreds of concerts.
Mezzotono will perform on Stanbic Day ( May 2) at 1pm and again on Golden Pilsener Day (May 3) at 5.30pm on the Lay’s Global Stage.
