AFTER winning his second race over the weekend, Moses Tarakinyu says he is on the right path as he returns from an injury he picked late last year.

His first race was the Old Mutual Half Marathon where he posted a time of 1 hour 3 minutes 55 seconds to finish first.

He carried the momentum into the FNB Kazungula Bridge Marathon where he took part in the half marathon.

And, he was the first to cross the finish line in 1 hour 5 minutes 36 seconds last Saturday.

“This shows that what we are doing is working and we are in the right direction, also our recovery pathway is the correct one.

“According to the results, it shows that I have recovered well, looking forward to seeing how my body will respond to the next training block.

“The result will help my coach to evaluate and see areas that we need to work on as we continue the build up to other races.

“The results will build confidence in me as I continue chasing my 2025 goals.

“I am focusing on improving my fitness and to be healthy and to make sure that all fitness components are worked on through the training programme my coach is giving me,” Tarakinyu said.

Tarakinyu is one of long distance runners, who have shown interest towards qualification for the forthcoming World Athletics Championships.
