RHUMBA musician, Jack Mapanga, says he is delighted to have resumed live shows and will be launching his new single, ‘‘Takayenda Takayenda’’, on Saturday.
The new single, a party song, will be zlaunched at Major Island Beer Garden in Gazaland, Highfield.
Mapanga will perform with the backing of his band made up of former BV Labien and Best of All Musica members.
Speaking to H Metro, Mapanga said:
“It feels good to be back on stage and performing before my fans once again.
“Since the lockdown curfew was lifted, I have resumed holding live shows.
“This Saturday, I will be launching my new single and the show also marks the start of my tour to promote the single.
“ The song is a party song.
“I decided to take the trending street lingo of the moment and we have transformed it into a song and dance, which is a thing we have always done with rhumba.
“The song has only been out for a few weeks and the response has been good too.
“I haven’t performed in Harare for a while so I’m calling all rhumba fans this Saturday for a rhumba experience at Major Gardens in Gazaland.”
He added:
“Last week, I performed in Mutare, where I also sampled the song.
“I officially launched it this Saturday and this is a show not to miss.
“I will also start my tour to promote the song and my brand.”
Mapanga said he has been releasing singles.
Currently, he is riding high with his new single titled Mushengenene, featuring Juntal.
