SEASONED Borrowdale Park and Racecourse professional jockey Brendon McNaughton has called it time from the saddle.
McNaughton, who piloted man winners with several stables in the past two seasons, said he is happy that he is leaving despite there not a farewell party for him because of the current lock down.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity to ride some amasing athletes. The hard work and headaches you have to put up with and still manage to turn the horses out so well is amasing.
“Thank you also goes out to Gokhan “Gengiz” Terzi and all owners for trusting me to bring home lots of winners safe and sound,” said McNaughton.
Trainner Terzi said it is sad to see another jockey leaving for green pastures.
“Sad to see another jockey leave to look for a better future. Brendon McNaughton thank you for all that you have done over the past two seasons.
“You gave me my first ever winner with my first runner and you gave me my first Grade Three and made it back to back the following year. Will definitely miss all the laughs and banter between us in the mornings.
Would like to wish you all the best on your new venture,” said Terzi.
McNaughton raced in Gauteng, South Africa, before coming to Borrowdale.
