Joy for Nyamaropa’s expecting mothers

EXPECTING women in Nyamaropa’s Ward 12 of Nyanga District received a major boost following the completion of a mothers’ shelter at the local clinic.

Ward 12 councillor, Councillor Annah Manhimanzi, said the development was welcome and timeous as it will go a long way in lessening the burden on pregnant women who used to travel long distances to access the service.

“As a community, we pooled resources to construct a mother’s shelter after realising the challenges expecting mothers in this and surrounding areas were facing. The development was important in ensuring that we prevent or reduce cases of home deliveries,” said Councillor Manhimanzi.

She applauded villagers who volunteered to provide labour and other assistance during construction of the mothers’ shelter.
