UNITED States-based Afro Fusion musician Julian King released an album last week, titled ‘Misunderstood: The Kings Chronicle’ which has been received well by music lovers.
Julian King worked on 10 solid tracks with visuals and featured various artists in his project.
The songs on the album are ‘Sorowe’, ‘Commando’, ‘Marry Me’, ‘Dombo’, ‘Nobody’, ‘Eke’, ‘Carol’, ‘Kiss’, ‘Pikoko’ and ‘Sara’.
The ‘One By One’ hit-maker has worked with Holy Ten, Boypee, Geosteady, Phatso and Nutty O.
‘Misunderstood: The Kings Chronicle’ was produced by some talented producers who understood Julian’s vision and helped these songs to life with producer Wayne Beats providing his magical touch.
Julian King told H-Metro:
‘“The album themes revolve around resilience, hope and self-belief.
“I have included a few deeper tracks that touch on personal experiences and hardships, I also explored a range of emotions showing my versatility.
“Each song is meant to stand on its own but also fits into the bigger narrative of overcoming and staying true to yourself.
“This album is a reflection of my journey and challenges I have faced along the way.
“Growing up without financial support and navigating my path, mostly on my own, I have often felt misunderstood.
‘“But I also believe that struggle can lead to strength and I hope this album speaks to anyone feeling isolated or overlooked.
“I want my listeners to know that resilience, faith and hard work can lead to triumph.”
He added:
“What I love the most about my music is its honesty, I don’t hold back on sharing who I am and what I have been through and I think that rawness resonates with listeners.
“My music is personal, yet relatable, and I believe that is what makes it powerful.
“It’s hard to choose my favourite song on this album but if I had to pick one, it would be Pikoko because it is a song that celebrates perseverance and the small victories that add up along the journey, which is something I relate to deeply.”
He feels more support is needed for artists.
“I would love to see more support for independent artists, especially those from humble backgrounds.
“The music industry can sometimes feel exclusive, so creating pathways for artists without major backing or connections would bring so much more authentic talent and diversity into the spotlight.
“To all my fans, stay true to yourself, even when no one understands.
“Keep pushing forward, and don’t be afraid to be different or misunderstood, that’s where your power lies.”
