FIVE people were seriously injured after a Toyota Regius Ace vehicle which was coming from Mutare was involved in an accident 5km away from Wengezi this morning.

The unregistered bus had 12 members of the Zion Apostolic Church who were coming from a church service in Sakubva.

They were on their way back home to Beitbridge.

Police had not yet attended the scene when The Manica Post arrived.

The injured were still being rushed to Chakohwa Clinic.

In an interview, one of the passengers, Abel Chari said the driver lost control of the vehicle.

“He told us that the steering locked suddenly and as he tried to brake, the vehicle veered off the road. The bus overturned and landed on its side,” he said.

The driver was one of the seriously injured.
