JUST IN: “Good Samaritan” steals R190 000

POLICE in Bulawayo are investigating a case of theft from a motor vehicle where a suspect posing as a good Samaritan who wanted to help a victim who had been involved in an accident but later stole R190 000 from their car.

The incident occurred on Monday at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Lobengula Street.

Posting on their official Twitter page, the police said:

“Police in Bulawayo are investigating circumstances surrounding a case of theft from a motor vehicle which occurred on 6/6/21 at the junction of 2nd Avenue and Lobengula Street in Bulawayo.”

“The suspect who appeared to be a good Samaritan but later turned out to be a criminal, offered to help the victim who was involved in a minor road traffic accident and stole ZAR 190 000 cash which was in the victim’s motor vehicle. Investigations are underway,” posted the police.
