A group from Kadoma, Offspring of the Land Crew, has released a single DVD titled “Pamberi NaGushungo” which is aimed at educating youths about the liberation struggle.

Youths were born after the attainment of Independence and have little or no knowledge about the armed struggle hence the need to educate them about the liberation war and patriotism.

The song is about how Zimbabwe came to be what it is today and the sacrifices that were made by the liberation war heroes.

It encourages Zimbabweans to remain patriotic and discourages people from being sell outs.

In an interview, Mandla Dube who is the group leader, said the song encourages people to stand firm in support of President Mugabe and the First Lady Amai Grace Mugabe.

“Gushungo is the centre of power in Zimbabwe and so we want the gospel of chimurenga to continually spread especially to the youths,” said Dube.

“We also rally behind the First Lady’s initiatives to make a better Zimbabwe and so we applaud her for her efforts.”

The song was recorded at Arts Pro Studios and it is led by Pupurai Togarepi who is the Zanu-PF secretary for Youths Affairs and features Norman Phiri popularly known as Nastro.

The song has a fusion of Chimurenga and Jit sound that catches the attention of the listener.

It was recorded as an initiative by the Zanu-PF youth department to remind the general public about how Zimbabwe attained its independence.
