CLIFTON Kadurira will have his Last Supper as Ngezi Platinum coach tomorrow against giants Dynamos but he says he is not coming to Rufaro just to fulfil the fixture. Kadurira guided the Mhondoro side from Division Two into the Premiership before he was demoted this week to become the assistant coach. But he will lead the team in the assignment againstDeMbare before he vacates his seat and give way for Tonderai Ndiraya, who takes over on Monday.
“These things happen in football everywhere in the world but life doesn’t stop. The most important thing is to work together as a team. We are football people and I am sure we remain focused as a team,” said Kadurira.
“We have had our normal preparations and these changes have not affected our plans. The boys are looking forward to the match and we are also prepared for maximum points. “We have been playing well as a team but the biggest challenge is that we haven’t been scoring. At the end of the day it’s the goals that count. “So we are hoping to correct that area and probably come out with a win.”
Ngezi Platinum will miss the services of striker Terrence Dzvukamanja, who was injured last week in the match against Harare City. They have former DeMbare players Washington Pakamisa, Zivanai Mhanda and Tichaona Mabvura, who are set to line up against their former paymasters.
DeMbare, who sit in an unfamiliar position in the bottom half of the table, have said they are aiming to collect maximum points from the newboys. It will be an emotional outing for the Dynamos fans, who are still grieving after the death of eight of their colleagues in a road accident last week.
Assistant coach Murape Murape yesterday challenged their players to lift their game a gear up.
“We want the players to respond well and show that they are playing for Dynamos. They should have that never-say die spirit, making sure that we work as a team and that everyone is working hard and that we are disciplined in how we are going to play. So that’s the challenging we are giving them because if you have been following our team these days, we are introducing some youngsters.
“We are trying to create competition and a good atmosphere within the team; and the spirit of one love amongst the guys. We are not choosing our team based on past success, what one has done before. You have to work in order for you to play.
“The room is there for everyone to do his part. If you do well, then the coaches will choose you and do the job for the team,” said Murape.
DeMbare this week trained with a full house as there were no injuries in their camp.
The DeMbare technical team have options in attack in rookies like Kudzanayi Nyakasaka and King Nasama.
