Central Committee and district co-ordinating committees who have been accused of dividing the party in the province.
District committee members yesterday confirmed at a district co-ordinating committee meeting at Dema council offices that they were divided.
Two Central Committee members were fingered as the architects of divisions in the district.
Seke DCC chairperson Cde Branco Matsangura and his deputy Cde Isaac Utete accused each other of dividing the DCC with the former accused of eyeing to become an MP while the later is pushing for Mr Munyaradzi Kashambe who was said not to have a party card and is not in any structures.
They in turn accused Central Committee members of interfering with their activities and sowing divisions in the party.
It also emerged that the DCC leadership were leading a campaign against Seke legislator Cde Phineas Chiota.
“We are going to have a committee to be headed by Cde (Ambrose) Mutinhiri to investigate these divisions and that will lead to disciplinary action,” Cde Kaukonde said.
“After Cde Mutinhiri’s committee has finished investigations, we will take the report to the national chairman.
“We have spoken to you for too long and now is the time for action because we cannot allow this to continue. It is important that we put the party first ahead of selfish objectives.”
He said the provincial leadership will not allow leaders who divide the party.
He said it emerged that some people in Seke DCC and the province at large were inviting people who had no history in the party and clandestinely giving them leadership positions.
He said some people were inviting people with money so that they could dislodge sitting legislators.
Cde Matsangura said Cde Utete was leading Cde Kashambe’s campaign to become an MP.
In response, Cde Utete said he had been introduced to Mr Kashambe by Cde Matsangura.
However, party members called for the dissolution of the whole DCC saying it had failed to lead the district.
They said the whole DCC was being led by people who were eyeing Cde Chiota’s seat and thus were sabotaging his activities.
Some party members said certain youths were being hired to boo Cde Chiota when he was addressing party supporters.
Cde Kaukonde said no one was allowed to sabotage the activities of a sitting MP because doing so will cost the party.
He said the party has not yet given a go ahead for party cadres to start campaigning for primary elections.
