HE came, he swung, he conquered and now he’s back for more.
Kieran Vincent jets into South Africa today with one mission: to defend his Kit Kat Cash & Carry Pro-Am crown at Irene Country Club.
It’s the very turf where he announced himself with a maiden Sunshine Tour win last year.
Vincent, 27, is the headline act in a 160-man field chasing a R200,000 prize pot in the Sunshine Tour event, which tees off this morning.
And he’s not flying the flag alone, fellow countrymen Robson Chinhoi and Stuart Krog are also in the hunt.
But make no mistake, all eyes will be on Kieran, who lit up last year’s edition with a sizzling six-under 66 in the final round, bulldozing past 11 contenders to snatch the title in dramatic fashion.
That stunning performance wasn’t just a win, it was a statement. And now, exactly a year later, the rising Zimbabwean star is back to prove it wasn’t a fluke.
“This one meant a lot,” Vincent said after his 2023 triumph. “I came here on an invite, and to win like that, with my mum and sister watching… it was just special.”
The stakes are just as high this time, and Vincent’s 11:50am tee-time today alongside Ruan Korb and Luke Jerling promises fireworks.
Krog leads the Zimbabwean charge at 7:00am with Louis Albertse and Ruan de Smidt, followed by Chinhoi at 7:10am in a group featuring Rupert Kaminski and Stephen Ferreira.
But the buzz is all about Kieran’s comeback, a prodigal return to African soil, where the mission is simple: Defend the crown.
