Kondowe, Musabani crowned winners at ZNA competition

Kondowe was the best shottist in the champions-at-arms male category after amassing 376 points in the male category. The shoottist was 37 points clear of runner-up Godfrey Zimhondi who gave a good account of himself with 339 points.
For his efforts Kondowe walked home with a floating trophy and US$120. Musabani, who had 280 points also received a floating trophy and US$120 for winning the female category.
The Inter-services Test match was won by ZNA Northern Zone with the Southern Zone coming in as the runners-up while Airforce of Zimbabwe were third. All the three teams won a shield and cash prizes. Mechanic Brigade dominated in the commander ZNA aggregate score in both male and female category. ZNA commander Phillip Sibanda could not attend the event citing pressing commitments elsewhere but in a speech read on his behalf, he hailed the event as a success.
“This year’s event was a success and the annual competition is continuing to draw contestants from the uniformed forces and civilians.
“I am impressed with the tournament which was formerly the ZNA Golf Day as it is encompassing new and young participants,” Sibanda said.
The competition started on Monday.
The event also saw the corporate world coming on board with MoniChris Investments, who represented by one of the directors Chris Mutsvangwa, playing a big role.
“To them I say thank you for the job well done and we look forward to this in future,” Sibanda said.
