the six runners in the feature race at Borrowdale Park tomorrow.
The race will see only three-year old fillies competing and is the third leg of the Triple Tiara.
Russini (2), from the Harris yard, has jockey Quinton Riddle on board and looks set to get a place as the chestnut filly is coming against a background of good form.
She lost to stable-mate Gracie Jones in her last run as she came third but Russini had managed to win the other two preceding races with Riddle.
Rusini will have to beat the challenge from Almavira (3) who has recently changed stables from Noleene Peech to Harris’.
The change in trainer by the Count Dubois filly could bring a change in fortunes as the filly makes her 13th career run.
Almavira got a place in her last race, finishing 1.25 lens behind winner Run Feast.
Apprentice jockey Juan Paul Van der Merwe will come to ride Almavira to replace championship rider Dewi Williams who was injured during training this week.
Van der Merwe will now take over all of Williams’ rides this weekend.
Neither Almavira or Russini is yet to run a distance beyond 1600m but they will both be carrying level weights and fancy their chances in the absence of Gracie Jones.
At number one on the race card is Kita who is coming into the race after a 70-day rest.
The Kitalpha filly appears to be losing the plot of late but she could be one to watch in this race with Gareth Williams holding the straps.
Riding arrangements, however, does suggest that Kita is the yards’ third choice.
But Kita has a fair chance of winning after having run second in the Phumelela Guineas and third in the Silver Slipper which was run over 1800m.
Tenesse Toddy (5) completes the line up for the Harris runners but the tipsters are giving her a small chance in this field.
Railton Peters takes a ride on Tenesse Toddy while Gavin Macleod hopes to give the Harris runners a challenge with Madam Madonna.
The South African bred filly poses a danger in this field and is the most seasoned runner.
Sofia by Kirk Swanson completes the small field at number six with jockey Tshwaro Appie.
She won her last race that was over 1700m, beating Tripofalifetime and Sofia could as well mount a strong challenge here.
The second feature of the day sees six potential stars of the future line up for the Champion Juvenile Stakes (GR 3) over 1200m in race five.
Once again Harris, holds a strong hand when she is expected to saddle up the unbeaten filly Control Freak.
Going for her fourth career victory, Control Freak with Van Derwe has already beaten four of her five other rivals and it’s hard to imagine her losing control here.
The change in the jockey might have little effect to the equine athlete.
Swanson brings Madigan (1) with Riddle.
The horse was beaten by eight lens on his debut run by Control Freak, but was subsequently gelded and in his next start won by a convincing seven lens.
But the gelding will find it hard to overturn the loss of eight lens to Control Freak
The last race of the day is the Mercedes Benz Merit Handicap over 1200m with eight equine athletes accepting to go to the starting stalls.
Swanson, Harris, Tselentis and Peech each have a fair chance of winning the race as the trainers have put two runners each.
Trainer Swanson brings Midnight Warrior (1) and Cut The Deal (7).
Peech’s Philippian is the one to beat and could cruise to a victory but will have to watch out for Showroom.
