Music fans in the mining town of Kwekwe are in for a thrilling night tonight, with a major performance lined up at The Lit Leisure Centre featuring Dendera star Sulu Chimbetu and Utakataka Express frontman Peter Moyo.

Peter Moyo, making a highly anticipated return to his hometown, is set to reconnect with his loyal fan base, many of whom held a special bond with his late father, the legendary Tongai Moyo. The show will serve as an informal commemoration of Tongai Moyo, who passed away on October 15, 2011.

The Lit Leisure Centre’s owner, who previously worked as Tongai Moyo’s bouncer and sound engineer, expressed excitement about the event.

“We’re fully prepared to host both Igwe, Peter Moyo and Captain Sulu Chimbetu. This show is a tribute to the late Tongai Moyo. We had hoped to hold it in October, but due to unavoidable circumstances, we’re hosting it now,” said Dube.
