Zimbabwean comedy continues to reach new heights after internationally acclaimed comedian Learnmore Jonasi secured another career-defining milestone by joining Trevor Noah’s BaFunny BaFunny South Africa’s National Team of Comedy for this year’s South African Festival of Comedy.
The latest achievement comes less than a year after Jonasi captured global attention with a remarkable Top Five finish on America’s Got Talent, a breakthrough performance that introduced millions of viewers worldwide to his unique brand of observational humour inspired by everyday African experiences.
Regarded as one of the region’s premier comedy showcases, the South African Festival of Comedy brings together some of the continent’s finest comic talent while providing performers with an opportunity to reach wider audiences.
The Zimbabwean funnyman is expected to share the stage with some of South Africa’s celebrated comedians, including Eugene Khoza, Ntosh Madlingozi, Lindy Johnson, Thabiso Mhlongo, Panch Gasela and Mbali Gudazi, alongside host Trevor Noah.
The comedy tour will stage performances in Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban in September, with audiences expected to witness a showcase of some of the finest comedic talent from across the continent.
