The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development today embarked on a countrywide monitoring and evaluation tour of the projects being implemented by the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara).

The committee is led by the chairperson, Cde Tawanda Karikoga.

They started the tour at the Dema Toll Plaza, which is set to be relocated to a new site along the Chitungwiza-Hwedza Road.

Construction of the new Dema Toll Plaza has already begun.

A section of the Chitungwiza-Hwedza Road has been closed to traffic at the 60 km peg until August 31 to allow construction to take place.

The decision to relocate the Dema Toll Plaza was announced by Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona in a Government Gazette published last Friday.
