LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: A new Zimbabwe beckons

elections1

I am just glad that we are now about to enter a new era.

Apparently, because of the forthcoming elections, many things have been put on hold as businesspeople, investors and individuals have been sitting on the fence.

I am sure that after the votes have been counted and the winner announced, there is bound to be more activity on the business front.

I am happy that the current President, ED Mnangagwa, has already laid the groundwork, from making sure that the environment is ripe for business to securing many mega deals that are set to benefit many as soon as they are executed.

Politics aside, I can already see light at the end of the tunnel.

There are many investors who are just waiting to move in as soon as the elections are over.

With peace and tranquillity prevailing at the end of it all, there is bound to be a “gold rush”.

President Mnangagwa should be applauded for working hard to correct past wrongs and re-engaging the international community and opponents alike.

After the elections, we must continue in the same vein. Zimbabwe is poised to be the jewel of Africa. Our time is now.
Prosper Moyo, Harare.
