Celebrated choreographer cum musician John Cole has been signed by South African based communication agency Brand Audacity.
The deal will see the agency managing Cole’s bookings and public relations in SA.
In a statement, Brand Audacity founding director, Honest Masiya said he was happy with his new client.
“We are excited that John Cole is joining our client roster as he is multi-talented, ambitious and hungry to make his mark in Africa. With all our clients, we are committed to assisting in brand building and exposing those who we represent to the limitless opportunities that the continent has to offer,” he said.
Cole has been in the industry for over seven years working with different artists including Jah Prayzah, Ammara Brown, Vimbai Zimuto and Tytan. He has been part of stage and video choreography for several artistes. He is also the founder of the Zimbabwe Choreographers Dancers Association, and the Zimbabwe Dance Industry Awards. A few weeks ago he made his debut in music releasing his first single Skorokoro.
Cole said he was excited to join Brand Audacity.
“I am very excited about this new venture as this increases my brand not only in Zimbabwe but also in SA and the world. Getting signed within SA is not easy but near impossible for a Zimbabwean artiste even more so a dance choreographer and I am glad that my hard work over the years got the right attention,” he said.
“This signing means a lot for the industry as a whole not just dance. Dance will benefit from this engagement with SA based companies who are now looking towards Zimbabwe and looking to elevate the dance individuals that are based in Zimbabwe.”
Cole added that the contracts gives him an opportunity to represent Zimbabwe.
“For my brand it will place me in the driver’s seat to represent Zimbabwe on SA market with my God given talent and lift our flag and country higher. Also, it opens avenues for dancers via Zimbabwe Choreographer’s Dancers Association which I am founder and will drive home the possibility for SA companies to look more in Zimbabwe for dancers. We have a lot of talent,” he said.
