EVERGREEN Chicken Inn in sipper Xolani” Lolo” Ndlovu has reckoned they are going to fight tooth and nail when they take on CAPS United in one of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) Week 15 matches that are scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
The match will be played at Harare’s Rufaro Stadium, a venue where the Gamecocks felt they were robbed by the referee when their match against Scottland FC was abandoned with a few minutes to go.
He Gamecocks are yet to register a win at home I seven games and they will march into the cauldron of Rufaro Stadium without their former assistant coach Fungai “Tostao” Kwashi- a an ex CAPS United son who undoubtedly has lots of information about the Makepekepe setup.
Weeks ago we reported that the free spirited Kwashi was reassigned to a Division Two side within the Chicken Inn structures, a move that reportedly raised eyebrows across the football fraternity.
While kwashi has not been spotted at a single training session or match connected to the Division Two outfit, Chicken Inn captain Ndlovu believes they will find it right in the capital.
“We are going there to fight for the club and the badge. We are going for this fight in an unfamiliar territory but all that we are praying for is to get positive results. . We are greatly looking forward to going back to where we belong and to our usual championship winning place,” said the soft spoken Ndlovu, a man who has undoubtedly never put a foot wrong for Joey Antipas’ mentored side.
Under the guidance of club’s former player Ian Bakala, who replaced the outfits’ legend Lloyd Chitembwe, CAPS United seem to be slowly but finding their rhythm ahead of their MatchDay fixture that can go either way.
Going into the match, both clubs are tied on 13 points with Chicken Inn enjoying a superior goal difference. Antipas’ men are on -1 and the green half of the capital is on -5.
In their previous match played at Luveve Stadium, Chicken Inn drew nil all against league returnees Triangle United while Makepekepe edged Mutare based Manica Diamonds 1-0. -@FungaiMuderere
