LOVE IN THE AIR. . . Bayern boss finds new flame just weeks after leaving wife

IBIZA. Bayern Munich manager Julian Naglesmann has been spotted on a luxury private yacht with his new lover just weeks after splitting up with his wife after 15 years together.

The German football coach, 34, has started dating Lena Wurzenberger, a 30-year-old sports reporter for Germany’s biggest newspaper Bild, who was taken off coverage of Bayern Munich after the true nature of their relationship was revealed.

The loved-up pair appeared inseparable as they kissed and held each other in their arms on the yacht off the coast of Ibiza on Tuesday.

The couple laughed as they basked in the sun on the deck of the private yacht as Nagelsmann enjoyed a break after his first year as Bayern boss.

Earlier this month, Nagelsmann split up with his wife Verena whom he married in 2018.

Bild then announced that Wurzenberger had been released ‘with immediate effect’ from covering the Bundesliga champions after discovering their previously secret relationship.

The 30-year-old previously reported on Werder Bremen before moving to Munich where she has been covering the Bundesliga champions for the past two years.

It is said Nagelsmann is keen to keep their relationship private, as she is well known among Bayern players from her ‘countless interviews’ with them.

For a recent edition of BILD, she interviewed star signing Sadio Mane following his £35million move from Liverpool.

Nagelsmann, who turns 35 next month, has two children with Verena, a son and a daughter.

It’s said that his relationship with Wurzenberger ‘is serious’ and that Bayern Munich were also informed about it.

This morning, Bild announced the relationship in an article titled: ‘Julian Nagelsmann loves Bild reporter.’

The article stated that the pair had enjoyed a short holiday in Ibiza and the newspaper only became aware of the relationship yesterday.

The same paper announced the break-up of Nagelsmann’s marriage on June 3.

The German played for FC Augsburg and 1860 Munich at youth level but never made a first team appearance.

He suffered a number of injuries at a young age and decided to retire aged just 20 after damaging the cartilage in his knee.

The Bavarian then briefly worked as a scout under current Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel at Augsburg, before gaining a university degree in sports science.

Nagelsmann’s coaching career started in 2010 when he led 1899 Hoffenheim’s youth academy when he was aged just 23.

He led the under-19 team to the 2013-14 Bundesliga title and so impressed club bosses that he was appointed head coach in 2015, due to take over at the start of the next season.

The coaching prodigy was still only 28, the youngest coach in Bundesliga history.

He ended up taking the job months early due to the ill health of his predecessor, with the club in 17th position and facing relegation.

Under his stewardship, they avoided the drop by winning seven of their remaining 14 games, finishing a point above the relegation playoff spot.

The following year, he steered Hoffenheim to fourth, securing European football and a Champions League qualification spot. – Mailonline
