ALL high schools countrywide are expected to commence Lower Sixth classes in the first week of February, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has announced.
This follows the release of the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) Ordinary Level results last Friday.
In a circular to all provinces yesterday, the Ministry’s Acting Permanent Secretary Mr Lameck Mudyiwa said schools, parents and guardians as well as the leaners must be prepared for the commencement of classes.
“The commencement date for the 2026 Lower Sixth classes is Monday, February 2, 2026. Please, ensure that all heads of schools, teachers, parents and the pupils are advised of this date,” he said.
Mr Mudyiwa also outlined the fees payment structure.
“The fees payable by the Lower Sixth pupils will be on a pro-rata basis, according the approved Term One fees for each school, given by the following formula: number of days remaining in Term One 2026 times total approved Term One fees,” Mr Mudyiwa.
