TELONE coach Joel Lupahla says he has been gifted with a golden opportunity to develop future football stars following his team’s elevation into the Premiership. The former Warriors forward says his wish was to see emerging footballers surpassing what the old guard achieved in their careers.
He wants a team with an average age of 22. “People nowadays are saying we no longer have talented players but I think the problem is that these youngsters are not getting a conducive environment to develop.
“I am retaining the bulk of the players that won promotion into the Premier League and I will only add a few guys to the team so that we will be more competitive. “I will not be recycling players who have seen it all, I will be giving others a chance, I am targeting to have the bulk of the team eligible to represent our Young Warriors.
“We have been training with these boys and I think they are ready for the big challenge, I am happy with what is at our disposal and our supporters must not expect the arrival of big-name players, we will give the ones we have a chance,” said Lupahla.
His club say they hope to get a retrieve for their coach to guide them even though he doesn’t have a CAF A coaching badge.
