DYNAMOS coach, Lloyd ‘Mablanyo’ Chigove, believes that their match against Manica Diamonds will not be a stroll in the park, and his team should be at its best to walk out of Sakubva Stadium with a full set of points tomorrow.

The Glamour Boys’ start to the 2025 season has not been so glamorous after going for three consecutive draws, only to start picking maximum points in last weekend’s triumph over defending champions, Simba Bhora.

Chigove watched his team settle for goalless draws against ZPC Kariba FC and Herentals FC, before playing a one-all stalemate with TelOne FC.

No wonder, last weekend’s slender victory over the reigning champions, Simba Bhora was celebrated like a cup final triumph.

And the DeMbare coach, in a telephone interview from Harare, told Post Sports that the match against Manica Diamonds will not be an easy one as it will be a real test of consistency.

“It is going to be tough match. It is never easy to play against Manica Diamonds. It will be a stiff contest. We will have to be at our best to upset them in their own backyard.

“We are aware that Manica Diamonds are always ambitious, and they also want to collect maximum points, especially when playing before their home crowd. That will make the match even more difficult for us, but we will certainly give it our best shot and hope to get a good result,” he said.

In last weekend’s Castle Lager Premiership match, Dynamos vice-captain Shadreck Nyahwa scored a rare goal in the 1-0 victory over Simba Bhora to register their first win of 2025, and boost the confidence of Chigowe’s rookies.

The win lifted Dynamos into sixth place in the log standings with six points from four games, and crucially, it infused confidence into a team that had seemed short on belief.

For three long weeks, the goals refused to come.

The frustration mounted.

The pressure built.

A proud football institution looked lost, toothless, but at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, Dynamos finally remembered who they are.

And they did it against the biggest possible scalp with midfielder Nyahwa being the unlikely hero, as the Glamour Boys, ended their winless run with a gritty 1-0 victory over the reigning champions Simba Bhora, a result that could prove to be a turning point in their stuttering campaign.

The winning moment came in the 54th minute and was less a masterstroke and more a reward for persistence, and a slice of good fortune.

According to the match report, a defensive howler by Simba Bhora’s William Thole and Isheanesu Mauchi gifted Nyahwa the ball inside the box after a short corner was lofted back in by Nomore Chinyerere.

The two defenders clashed in a moment of miscommunication, and Nyahwa pounced with precision, calmly rolling the ball into an empty net.

The relief was as loud as the goal celebration.

For the first time in four matches, Dynamos found the winning formula.

If the spell been broken, it now remains to be seen whether Dynamos will now pass the test of consistency.
