The gifted bassist, dancer and vocalist is also expected to take fans down memory lane with hit songs like “Madhawu”, “Wemakonzo”, “Chimoko Changu” and “Tafadzwa”, which he dedicated to his second wife. His discography touches on a number of social issues which people can relate to, hence the continued rise of his popularity. While Macheso will be the major drawcard, Chipfumo will, on the other hand, complement the Orchestra Mberikwazvo frontman.
The dreadlocked artiste has seen his stock rising in recent times. Chipfumo said it was an honour to share the stage with Macheso.
“It’s a big honour to share the stage with artistes like Macheso, I regard him as a brother, as he is ready to help. I know I had starved my fans of new songs but the situation was beyond my control,” he said.
The “Tsiurika” hitmaker said he was forced to suspend recording new albums because of piracy.
“When you think of piracy, you feel used because you work for nothing. However, for the sake of my loyal fans, I will drop a few songs from my upcoming album —
‘Ndoenda Harare’ — which I think is a good project,” he said.
