MUSIC lovers are in for a sizzling treat as sungura maestro Alick Macheso and Zora music king Leonard Zhakata are set to headline the Silala Music Festival at the Berea Madzonga Resort in Venda, Limpopo this Friday, 12 July.
This marks Macheso’s second appearance at the cross-border fiesta since its 2024 debut, and this time he brings heavyweight backup in the form of Zhakata.
The Zimbabwean legends will share the stage with South Africa’s top artists, including Makhadzi of Ma Gear fame, rising star Shebeshxt, Limpopo groove master Benny Mayengani, the ever-controversial Zodwa Wabantu, and nostalgic hitmakers Dalom Kids.
The line-up also boasts a wave of local talent from Limpopo, such as Vhuyie Da DJ, Khakhathi, Mukololo, Zozo and Sengere Super Beat, Just Ice, Shufflers, Rude Kid, and Sikiza Boys.
Located just 120km from Beitbridge, the event is a golden opportunity for Zimbabwean fans to witness a musical fusion celebrating the rich cultural diversity of communities along the Limpopo River valley.
The countdown has begun, and with Macheso and Zhakata in the mix, this festival promises nothing but fireworks.
