POPULAR Dangamvura-based prophet, Madzibaba John Karembera of the Johane Masowe Yechishanu Yenyenyedzi Nomwe, has stormed the music scene with a bang by releasing a gospel project titled Chegumi.
Madzibaba, who is a staunch Zim-dancehall fan, is well known in the sprawling suburb of Dangamvura for exorcising demons, prophesying and healing. Nobody, however, knew that he has a knack for singing and preaching through the word of God through music. In an interview, the 34-year-old singer, said the album would officially hit the streets early next moth. It carries seven tracks which are Tinokutendai Mwari, Ndine mubvunzo, Vana vevaporofita, Tariro uone, Mwari wakanaka, Wapinda muchurch and Mazano aSatan. Madzibaba took his passion for music a higher level by setting up a state-of-art studio in Dangamvura called Big Jokar Records. Upcoming Zim-dancehall artistes, the likes of Abel T, Prince Machaya (Seh Tiger), Diamond Kid, Peter Gunz and Dangerzone have so far benefited from the initiative.
“Music has been part of my life although I never thought I would establish a studio and compose own songs. I am glad that I found time to come up with own songs despite busy schedule. I will officially launch my new album early next month where a galaxy of local artistes will perform,” he said.
The talented composer said he was inspired by upcoming Zim-dancehall and gospel artistes who have played a critical role in passing positive messages about God.
“Some of these artistes craft lyrics that are so inspiring and soulful. I want to follow their footsteps and bless people through my music. I am ready to face all challenges” he said
