Goals from Innocent Kacheche and Thomas Manyange in either half were enough to send Magwegwe to the provincial competitions to be held at Gifford High School on 13 July.
Speaking yesterday Magwegwe High School sports director Lungile Ndlovu praised his boys for their good display.
“I was highly impressed by my players’ performance as they managed to win in their group which in my view was very tough and then went on to win the final against Amhlophe. I think we have a compact team this year and our target now is to go through the provincial competitions at Gifford High School,” said Ndlovu.
Zone A consists of Magwegwe High School, Pumula High School, Amhlophe High School, St Bernard’s High School, Premier High School, Green Gables High School and Mbonqane Secondary School.
In Zone E Eveline High School will be the Under-17 girls’ COPA Coca-Cola representatives in the provincial games while the boys’ representatives are yet to be determined with their final games set for 30 June.
In Zone C, Nkulumane High School will represent the girls while in the boys’ category it will be Sizane High School.
