Mahachi was found not guilty of two separate accounts of attempted murder of his four-year-old son.
He was exonerated on Friday by Bulawayo magistrate Mark Dzira.
He was being accused of assaulting his son with an iron bar and pouring hot water on him.
The witnesses are reported to have given contradictory and disjointed evidence during cross examination.
It was also further noted that the witnesses gave inconsistent testimonies, which made it difficult for the magistrate to determine the truth.
The magistrate also stated that the medical experts could not determine the cause of the injuries.
Mahachi can now start to revive his dream after spending the last six months in the wilderness.
Mahachi was playing for South Africa’s SuperSport United when the allegations surfaced in June.
That was also the last time he played competitive football.
SuperSport United suspended him.
Chicken Inn coach, Joey Antipas, told H-Metro that he was keen for Mahachi’s signature.
Just when he was close to joining the Gamecocks, his situation escalated leaving the two parties with no option, but to put the move on hold.
It’s not clear if Antipas is still considering bailing Mahachi out following his acquittal.
