Despite being booked off performances due to her injuries, South African singer Makhadzi has fulfilled her promise to fans by releasing her new song, “Operations”, featuring Mr Brown and TS Man, on Friday.
This release comes as she recovers from a serious car accident while travelling from Limpopo to Johannesburg.
The Ghanama hitmaker, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, penned an inspirational track that reflects her healing journey during her recuperation at home after being discharged from the hospital.
Makhadzi had previously assured her fans on Instagram and TikTok that she would release a full version of the song after finding herself bored at home and experimenting with beats, which she later shared on social media.
Adding a touch of humour to her situation, Makhadzi chose a selfie taken while lying in a hospital bed as the cover for her song.
Following the successful release, she trended on the social media platform X, with fans reacting positively to her creativity.
In her new song, Makhadzi reassures her fans that she is on the path to recovery and will return to performing soon.
She sings: “I’m on the way, I’m gonna heal. I was reducing, making better my operation. I can see, I can talk, but I was making my operation feel better.”
Currently, Makhadzi is focusing on her recovery, which includes attending physiotherapy sessions.
Earlier, she announced that she would not be performing for 10 weeks as she prioritises her health.
Following the release of “Operations”, Makhadzi’s spokesperson, Lucky Tshilimandila, issued a statement thanking fans for their support.
The statement confirmed that Makhadzi remains unavailable for bookings as she continues her recovery journey after undergoing an operation.
“Makhadzi Entertainment confirms that as of Saturday, January 17, 2026, Makhadzi is still recovering at home after an accident that took place on December 31, 2025. Makhadzi went for a check-up yesterday (Friday, 16 January 2026) in Polokwane, and the doctors are pleased with her recovery process.”
“We can also confirm that a case was opened in Mokopane on 31 December 2025, and she managed to give her statement yesterday,” read the statement − IOL.
