Malajila brings ‘Zora Butter’ to Super Diski

means he is now the talk of the town.
But United assistant coach Fadlu Davids says the form shown by Malajila is no surprise.
“Cuthbert was here in 2010, but Maritzburg couldn’t sign him after failing to agree terms with his team in Zimbabwe.
“I think he went to play in Libya and later went back to Dynamos before we finally signed him in January this year.
“He has been working hard at training and is trying to adapt to the pace of the game in South Africa.
“He has been doing well in recent games and deserves the goals that he scored against both Chiefs and Sundowns.”
Davids believes that the striker still has a lot to offer in local football.
“He is a typical goalscorer: he is mobile, has pace and makes good runs in behind the defence.
“He is adapting well and believe me  . . . he is still gonna score lots more goals for Maritzburg United,” Davids adds.
Malajila has also brought with him a unique Zimbabwean celebration that has caught the imagination of the fans of Maritzburg.
In Zimbabwe, the dance is called “Zora Butter”, started by popular sungura musician, Alick Macheso, and popularised by the Dynamos players and fans.
It has come to represent a happy moment for Zimbabwean football and is even the unofficial celebratory dance of the Warriors when they score.
Malajila’s new teammates are learning fast and, the more that the Zimbabwean striker scores, they more they adapt to this unique dance.
It’s a simple dance but, when it’s done by a group, with the fans in cue, it creates a beautiful sight.
The left arm outstretched, creating an angle of about 180 degrees at the elbow, the right arm coming in at an angle and then caressing the left arm, from around the fingers and coming right down to the shoulder.
Then, the stunt is repeated again and again to create what looks like wave.
Even the Maritzburg fans are quickly learning the new celebratory dance – KickOff/Sports Reporter.
