A cross-border transporter is behind bars for allegedly infecting his 15-year-old girlfriend with HIV.
It is alleged that Michael Muchenjenwa deliberately infected the girl as he had unprotected sex with her on numerous occasions without mentioning he had the virus. The matter came to light when the girl fell pregnant.
At first, Muchenjenwa was arrested on charges of having sexual intercourse with a minor, but he was later charged with deliberate transmission of HIV after the girl tested positive.
The two were in love and their relationship started sometime in November 2015.
The lovebirdsa�� sexual relationship began when they had bush sex and since then they never starved each other the forbidden fruit.
As if that was not enough sex craze, they had it under the bridge before graduating to having a decent sex nest.
The girla��s family was shocked to discover that their child was pregnant and reported the matter to the police. After being quizzed, she revealed that her boyfriend was Muchenjenwa resulting in his arrest.
Muchenjenwa was hauled before magistrate Abednico Ndebele facing deliberate transmission of HIV charges.
Prosecutor Mafaro Mageza told the court that on an unknown date between the period extending from November 2015 to January 2016, Muchenjenwa unlawfully and deliberately transmitted HIV to the complainant by having unprotected sex with her several times. He first lured her to a bushy area where they had their first sexual encounter and one night they had it under a bridge.
They had sexual intercourse numerous times until the girl fell pregnant and it is when the matter came to light.
Muchenjenwa was remanded in custody to 18 March.
