adminSupporters of Malema ally, premier Cassel Mathale, fighting to retain his position as the party’s provincial chairman, sang “showara wa re sokodisa” (the shower man is giving us a hard time).
Malema sat on stage and “fervently joined in the singing, holding his hand over his head to symbolise a shower head” the newspaper reported.
The song was in reference to Zuma’s 2006 rape trial in which he told the Johannesburg high court that he had a shower after having unprotected sex with his HIV-positive accuser. Zuma was found not guilty.
The shower image was created by cartoonist Zapiro who is being sued by Zuma for R5 million after he depicted Zuma with a shower growing out of his head during and after the trial.
Malema is currently appealing a five-year suspension from the youth league after he was found to have brought the party into disrepute. — Sapa.
