A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Old Magwegwe suburb in Bulawayo was reportedly found hanging inside the bathroom of his family’s home in the early hours of Saturday following a discussion with his parents over alleged drug use.

Police have identified the deceased as Dominick Ndlovu.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident on Monday, saying investigations into the sudden death are underway.

“Police in Bulawayo confirm receiving a case of sudden death by hanging which occurred in Magwegwe, Bulawayo,” said Inspector Msebele.
She said on Friday at about 8.30pm, Ndlovu had a discussion with his parents after supper, during which they restrained him from taking drugs, allegations which he denied.

“His parents then retired to bed, leaving the deceased in the sitting room. At around 3am, his father woke up and found the now deceased hanging from the roof truss of the bathroom by a blue and white rope, showing no signs of life,” said Inspector Msebele.
She said police were appealing to members of the public to embrace dialogue and seek help whenever conflicts arise.

“We extend our sincere condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time. We urge members of the public to maintain open communication and consider seeking a third party or professional counselling in disputes if common ground is not reached,” she said.
Police are continuing with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
