Man accused of peeing on himself

A HARARE man is being accused of peeing on himself and messing up the toilet each time he gets drunk.

It is alleged that Tatenda Mangodza, who is married to Irene Svinukai, is in the habit of abusing his wife over petty issues.

The matter came to light at the Harare Civil Court where Svinukai told the gallery that her husband was violent and also abandons his family for girlfriends.

“This man, you are seeing, is very violent, especially when he is drunk.

“Anombouya akatakurwa nechingoro kunge ma cabbages nenyaya yekudhakwa.

“When he arrives home he starts to shout, insulting and threatening me,” Svinukai said.

She said the man abandons his home to stay with girlfriends and comes home only once or twice.

In his defence, Mangodza accused his wife of ill-treating and assaulting him.

“She is the one who beats me up.

“I also wish this court to bar her from touching my personal mobile phone because whenever she sees messages in my phone, she destroys the phone.

“About six cellphones were smashed or thrown away,” Mangodza said.

The court barred Svinukai from touching his husband’s mobile phone.

Presiding Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted the protection order in favour of Mangodza.

She ordered Svinukai to maintain peace or face arrest.
